Checklist for a Smooth Adoption

Bringing a cat into your home is a rewarding experience, but preparation is key to a smooth transition. This checklist will help you get ready for your new feline family member, from setting up a safe space to ensuring proper care. With patience, love, and the right essentials, you’ll create a welcoming environment where your adopted cat can thrive. 🐾❤️

Care Requirements

Caring for your adopted cat goes beyond food and shelter—it’s about ensuring their well-being with proper nutrition, vet care, enrichment, and love for a happy, healthy life.

Cat Proofing

Keep your cat safe by cat-proofing your home! Installing mesh or grilles on windows is a must! Creating a safe space ensures your feline friend can explore worry-free.

Financial Stability

Adopting a cat is a lifelong commitment that comes with financial responsibilities. Ensure you're prepared for food, vet visits, grooming, and emergency care.

Essential Pet Supplies

Everything your pet needs to thrive—quality food, comfortable bedding, grooming, scratch boards, cat litter and more. Give your furry friend the best care possible!

The need for cat fosters is greater than ever. Rescuers are overwhelmed with calls from people wanting to surrender their cats, while abandoned and unneutered cats are left to fend for themselves. Independent rescuers work tirelessly, using their own time and resources to help, but we can’t do it alone.

We want to save them all, but without foster homes, we simply can’t take in more cats. That’s where you come in.

Fostering means providing a temporary home for a rescued cat until they find a permanent family. It could be for a few weeks or a few months, depending on the cat. By opening your home to a foster cat, you’re not just offering shelter—you’re giving them a second chance to thrive.

Fosterers will need to provide food and supplies, while we cover medical (vet) costs.

If you’re able to foster or have any questions, please reach out. Together, we can change their lives.

Foster Home Requirements

Windows Meshing

Foster homes must be fully cat-proofed. All windows, balconies, and gates must be securely meshed to prevent escape. Indoor-only homes are required, with no exceptions.

Family Consent

All household members must agree to fostering.

Minimum 1-Month Commitment

Fostering typically lasts between 1 to 3 months. Please inform us at 2 weeks in advance if you are unable to continue fostering.
